Our Story

In early 2021, a new job offer, prompted by the Lord, moved our family from Michigan to North Carolina. We weren’t planning on it, but we prayerfully considered it and decided to follow His leading.

Before moving, a good friend of mine from Michigan was starting her own candle business. She knew how much Barry, my husband, loved candles and encouraged me to try it out. So, in 2022, I watched several tutorials, found a great candle supply company that uses non-toxic fragrances and supplies, and began pouring candles in our kitchen. There was a lot of trial and error, and our friends graciously helped us build a brand and test all the scents (there are a lot of bad ones!).

Our love of candles quickly aligned with our desire to be a blessing and to show the love of Christ. So from the beginning, it’s been a sweet way to be hospitable and generous. It’s a great joy to welcome people into our home and send them away with a candle to warm their home. We’ve had many opportunities to support missionaries, other Christian organizations and to partner with small businesses around the country.

I am a wife and mom first, and using a small amount of my time to make an impact outside the home for Christ’s kingdom is a sweet blessing.

We make our candles as clean as we can, with intentionality in what we want the scents to represent. Every scent we pour tells a story, a family-inspired memory, whether it’s a place that we love, a seasonal food we enjoy making, or a memory we cherish.

I no longer work out of the kitchen. Some generous friends gifted us a small shed, which we converted into our “candle shed.” It is a joy to welcome people into the shed, show them the candle-making process, and, of course, let them choose one to take home!

I’m glad you’re here; it means a lot that you’d choose to support our little effort. We aren’t the only ones making good candles, but I’m sure our story is unique.
